I created a modified version of LimeWire, that allows you to block vendors from connecting to you. I also added password protection for the filtering options and an option called ALLOW_ONLY_LIMEWIRE_UPLOADS in the limewire.props file. It is deactivated by default but if you activate it you will only answer upload requests from LimeWire hosts.

The file is called:
LimeWireKrieger_Modified_NoAds_WindowsLinuxMacOSX. zip and is now available on gnutella.

- Err, and you will need LimeWire to download it.

Did you tell the "official" creators of LimeWire about that ?
They might be interested ...

I already sent the patches to them, but I doubt they will commit it to the mainline since most of it is not very clean code.

Hello!

Cool!But
why no classical Mac OS version just OSX?

The original LimeWire also exists for the classic Mac OS!.

Krieger88 July 19th, 2002 08:32 AM

Yes, I paid no attention to stay compatible with Java 1.1.8 but it will run with Java 1.3.1 or 1.4.0 which means it will run on Linux, Windows, Solaris, MacOSX, etc.

It's possible that it works on MacOS if you supply the Swing classes and the MRJ compatibility stuff.

Another clean version of LimeWire, basically the version from cvs but with a few additional options.

Note : TruStarWarrior and me were the first ones to produce a series of "modified" clients .
Here and then some altered versions show up but not a serious attempt big enough to stick a name on it .
BTW: When TruStar left so did CLW's site . (I'm too lazy)

In the "series" department we still have FreeWire and AquaLime .

And if you haven't been following...

AquaLime - http://mamiyaotaru.mangatoanime.com/
and FreeWire - http://www.FreeWireP2P.com/

Wasn't LimeWire going to have skins like AquaLime for 2.5?

Hmm, the AquaLime guy seems to have fallen behind...
