Why is Limewire search so stupid? Why does Limewire search "OR" all search keywords????? Why does Audio search have different fields for entering Title, Artist, & Album when the words entered are applied to all the fields?? When I type the words "Black Forest" into the title field, I want to see search results with the words "Black" AND " Forest" in the Title. I do not want to see the search results with only the word "Black" in any of the Title, Artist or Album fields. I do not want to see the search results with only the word "Forest" in any of the Title, Artist, or Album fields. I do not want to see the search results with the words "Black Forest" in the Artist or Album fields when I entered them into the Title field. ORing all search terms into all fields gives me TOO MANY UNWANTED SEARCH RESULTS to wander thru. Who do I talk to about this????????? |
search results Hey - take a chill pill and relax - I understand your issue but you're fogetting two things - first , lots of people (myself included) rename files for one reason or another so the LW search protocols maximise your chances of picking up the file you actually want even though its been renamed in a way you wouldn't have done it yourself - second, if you really want to see how many files you could have picked up if the process was as loose as you're suggesting do a search using shareaza and check out everything that comes up on the 'hit monitor' - (though its surprising the number of times you see a file you never would've thought of looking for but suddenly really really need) Cheers, bad_vlad |
Hello! I do not think that it is anything wrong with the LimeWire search result manner.Actually I think that just using the old fashioned any type search method gives better results then the categorised search. And also the fact that you get alot of unwanted or unexpected results in the search hits is when it comes to file sharing especially music a positive thing. When you get alot of unwanted results on one of the Internet search engines yes thats really annoying because you have to go trough alot of garbish before finding what you want and that takes alot of time and energy. But when you find unexpected stuff on Gnutella it is a good thing both for you and all the unknown not so big artists out there.Usually when I have searched for something in particular and finds it and then start to download it I usually during the time it takes to download that file browse trough the search result list and occassionally I find something that I never though of before but for some reason feel a temptation to download and I download that too and sometimes I get real good stuff that way that I never would have thought of searching by my self but ofcourse sometimes you get crap aswell but it is worth it. And also as I stated above the small artists can actually benefit from this because they gets listened too alot more then they should have been listened too if it where not for the existence of File Swapping and Gnutella so the record industry is wrong when they states that FileSharing is the reason for the current dropp in sales I think that if it where not for filesharing the drop in sales would have been even worse. The reason for the current drop in sales is because of the outrageus prices that they charge for an album today. But the RIAA and their alikes are to stupid to realise that. |
Stupid Serach I agree. The Search methods are really strange. Try to find an Artist name ****** and analyze the results. You cannot pick any good answer. Is someone modyifing it ? Thanks Carlos |
No offense to those of you who like Limewire search, but it is quite lame - they need to add more options for those of us who want to perform more specific searches - then we will all be happy. |
