Talking Conform ... !!!!

I probably going to get totally hozed for that title

At any rate ... does any one know of a good utility that will organize your mp3 ... mainly for sharing purposes ... title - artist - album -track ... etc ... gets its data from CDDB ... ya'll know the rest.

Drop me a note or post the name of it ... it would probably be useful for everyone to sorta get on the same page here ...

Cool

Hello!

I use iTunes for playing all my music(Only available for Mac OS 9.X and OSX).

It has most of the functions that you wanted including CDDB lookup but it is not adapded specifically for fileSharing so it does not have the capability to organize the files themselves on the HD but it have playlists and so on but it will not actually reorganize the files on the HD.

Similar software do exist for Windows.

Personally I have all my music in my Shared Folder and some other places which I also have as Shared directorys in LimeWire and have not organised any of them in any particular way simply because it is not neccessary. If I would like to find any of my 5000 songs I use the Playlists inside iTunes or simply look for a particular file name by using Sherlock 2(a MAC OS search tool). The method I usually use is to highlight a particular file in my playlist in iTunes and then hold down the Control key and the mouse button and from the contextual menu that appears select Show Info and I will see amongst other things info about the path to that file.I am sure that there is similar functions in some of the mp3 players for Windows.

I do not think that there is such software available just for organizing files specifically adapted for mp3's and FileSharing.

Cool Thanks for the tip

I do use playlists .... but lately I've been having this inexplecable urge to organize my mere 3800 mp3's into something that looks ... well.... better. I hate downloading songs that look a mess ... organization is the key to success here. at any rate ... installing Linux on another machine ... gotta run ... but thanks for the 411.

Default Suggested tools

Brother Bobo
I have used several library tools on my machine (windows 2000)... I primarily use Real One because I like the feature set but I have also used and still use WinAmp and MusicMatch Jukebox... I think the database engine in the Real One product sucks though... I have around 27,000 songs in my machine and it is VERY sluggish... although I have found no other that is a significant improvement.
