Little Help here please!!! Here's my problem: I have downloaded a ton of music(mp3) files from Kazaa and saved them to zip disks. I now have limewire and want to put these files in my library of limewire music. I can locate them on the limewire (LW)library page by clicking open then the D drive. All files are there I just don't know how to get them to my LW folder so that I can play and share them on LW. Any help would be great because most of these files I cannot find on LW. |
Contrary to common belief, Zip disks are not meant to act as hard disks. I would recommend that you not try to add your Zip drive as a shared folder as the queries and downloads are going to put a lot of strain on both the drive and media. If it were me, I'd mount the Zip disk and copy the files to a directory on one of my fixed disks. As far as the mechanics of copying the files to your current LimeWire shared directory I'll let a Windows person advise you on that. |
Just out of curiosity, where in the Windows directory structure does LimeWire store its default Shared directory? For example, on my Linux box, the default would be /home/terry/Shared |

Thanks for the help...the click and drag thing did work. My problem know is the same as many others. Files will go days and never be found to be uploaded but I guess this is just something I have to deal with. In my two days here I have shared over a 100 uploads, have about 60 in my request area, and have found about 10 that have downloaded to my computer. Is that unusual to have such bad luck on finding these files to download? Also what is a fair amount to request for people to have shared with others, I don't want to assist freeloaders? One more thing, when my count of shared files increases will I have better luck? That is do some put there "files to not be a freeloader" at 200 or 300? Thanks |
