Default System Failure/ Lost Music

When the system was down yesterday Limewire told me to reinstall the application and now that I have, I can't seem to get into my music anymore. It says that the alias "Limewire" could not be open because the original item could not be found. I already trashed all the new limewire's I installed trying to get the system to work but I can't get into my shared files back. Is there anyone who knows how to fix this problem? I'd really appreciate the help! thanks
Nikki~

As you mention 'alias' , I assume that you're using a Mac. Try these steps:

Firstly the alias problem:

1. Install Limewire (if you haven't done so already).

2. If the alias for Limewire on the desktop doesn't work, delete it (command delete).

3. Go to the Limewire folder (Applications>Limewire by default), select the Limewire program icon (single click), type command M and drag its alias to the desktop.

Now the lost shared folder:

1. Type command F in the Finder and enter 'shared' in Sherlock. This should show up the shared folder(s) on your hard disk.

2. Open the folder(s) that show(s) up to see if your files are still there.

3. If the files show up in one of these folders, take a note of where they are (look at the bottom of the Sherlock window) and start Limewire. If music files show up in more than one shared folder, drag them all into one (remembering which one you've chosen).

4. Go to Tools>Options>Saving and check if the location in this window coincides with the shared folder you've found. If it doesn't, click Browse and select the correct folder. Your future downloads will now be saved in your shared folder.

5. Now go to Tools>Options>Sharing, Remove the folder that appears there, click on Add and select your shared folder again. It should now show up in Limewire's library window and will be available to share for other users.
