How does chat work?

I can use the other functions but Chat eludes me. When i click it nothing happens. Whether the file I click has a face next to it or is blank.:confused:

Chat seems to do nothing. ver 263 and 265 pro.

I figured it out

well...not really figured it out :p but when your connected and theres a smiley face next to whoever has the file if you click on it and wait a window will pop up like an IM and u can talk to them it's cool;)
