Misleading file names
 

I'm not ashamed to admit that I use Limewire occasionally to search for porn (legal age, 35yo), especially gay stuff. What annoys me is people who misleadingly name their files so that they *appear* to be gay content but once you start to download and preview, it's staight porn. What is the point behind it? why not name files what they are so that people can actually FIND what they are searching for?

Fact is... some people, be it intentional or not, will misname their files! Not much we can do about it. :(

Spike I see where you are coming from but your hatred of gay people has nothing to do with protecting children.
I would also have you know that I was about 11 years old at the time I realized I was gay and I can tell you I would have been thrilled if Limewire and gay porn were around back then.

the other thing we shouldn't forget though is (and I know this sounds trite) 'the power of love' - I have friends of both sex that much to their surprise fell in love with people of the same sex long after they thought they'd clearly established their own heterosexuality - what do you do? - if you really believe love is special you have to accept that maybe it arrives in a package you were unprepared for - you have to grow up in big hurry

Anyway's here's a ontopic link AVI preview It's a early beta but at least you now can preview a .avi before finishing the complete file.

I would say that most people use Limewire and other guntella programs to download music files, and I'd be willing to bet that the second most popular files are porno. Unfortunately, you're going to have people who are not going to either name their files correctly or annotate them so that others can find them. Having said that, there does seem to be some people who put misleading subjects in their file names which might bring up irrelevant serach results. I don't think its a straight thing or a gay thing, but it does cause a problem however if people put things like "Powderpuff" in their file names and some kid uses Limewire and does a search for "Powderpuff Girls". Its just one of those problems with having an open file-sharing program and there's nothing that can really be done about it except grin and bear it.

lets get into scientific matters,instead of philosophy. Ones personal thoughts cant contradict fact. Unfortunatly we all must face this someday.

I have been trying to download F**** H****'s CD *** for the past several days. I think sopme people are deliberately misleading us. Songs are misnamed, others appear to be a 15 second clip, then start into the song. What's the deal with this? I'm so sick of this about about ready to go buy the darn thing at Wal Mart!

Oops!.... Sorry, but please don't use real examples of stuff you are having trouble with, it's copyrighted material your talking about here ;)
