Why So Few Bitrates Shown? Greetings, Only a tiny percentage of MP3s show the bitrate. Does Limewire *send* the bitrate info? If it does, does anyone know what clients do *not* send the bitrate so I can get this fixed. Thanks |
not all clients send bitrate info. i know bearshare and limewire do and i think gnucleus does that too. |
yeah it can be irksome not knowing the bit rate - you can always get a bit of an idea by the file size - and some folks (like me)irritate some users by insisting on renaming files with "@256" (or whatever) bad_vlad |
what is bitrate?? |
Quote:
a bit rate of 128 kb/sec is sort of the most common but mp3 files sound much better if the bit rate is higher (usually - 160 or 192 or 256 or 320) the only drawback is the higher the bit rate the bigger the file - but if you've got the space and don't mind the longer download time - the higher bit rate files sound much much better than low bit rate files cheers, bad_vlad |
