I used to connect and now I can't

I installed Limewire a few days ago and could share and download several files but since the weekend I can't connect, on the connections page at the start there are many "connecting" sites but they begin to disappear until nothing happens and I stay disconnected.
Could anyone tell me what to do please?

Things Affecting Your Ability To Connect

There are several things that could affect your ability to connect to the network.

1. You don't have a connection to the internet from your machine.
2. You are attempting to connect from a school or workplace that has recently blocked access for these types of applications.
3. You have recently installed firewall software on your machine.

Essentially, you haven't provided enough information about your configuration (when it worked) and what changed between it not working.

This information could be useful in helping to determine what's happening to your connection.

Explaining more the situation

I'm on a Mac system and do have the internet connection, as far as I know a Firewall has not been installed on the computer (in that case how could I know?), the option of have been blocked is possible but not likely, are there any other options? What can I do?

Before we go any further... are you using your machine at work, school or home?

The reason I ask is because if it is at work or at school. Many administrators are choosing to cut off access to people using p2p services within their networks. If this is the case then it is highly likely that you cannot connect as the following may be true:

you ====>school/work/router====>Internet

(deny p2p applications (drop connection attempts))

If you are using your mac at home and you are in complete control of how you use your network resources then there are some setting in Limewire we can verify.

Hope this helps
