Dennis | Dennis you are absolutely right! Although I don't practice this, I assume that the people who do--do this to keep freeloaders out of their systems. Another possible reason is to keep trolls out i.e. companies looking for illegally shared content and I'm sure there are many non-clandestine reasons for setting high byte counts (other p2p system) and shared file counts (LimeWire.)
