theme zip files not copied if they exist?
 

I have not seen any forums that cope with the development of LimeWire, so I post here.

I the recent newer LimWire versions appeared the themes feature. As I have been following the development with daily CVS updates pretty closely I have had serveral times the problem that my themes where not up to date. Removing the themes directory inside my settings folder always fixed the problem.

Further investigation revealed that the copyResourceFile method of CommonUtils.java only copies a theme from the themes.jar file to the themes directory if the particular xxx_theme.zip does not exist yet. I would assume that for making it possible to update the themes it should copy the files also if the source file is newer than the destination. What do you think?

the best place to post about the development is on the gui mailing list (dev@gui.limewire.org) or the core mailing list.. but gui is more active, and this is really a gui issue (even tho CommonUtils is in core).

But from the LimeWire.org archive site it appears that the development mailings lists are are orphaned for about a year (the last post is in 2001). So there is no traffic on these mailing lists, no reason to subscribe.

Yes, the web frontend is broken and will not show any newer messages when browsing the archives by date.
