Monitor Uploads

My client says that I am sharing 12 files but under the Monitor tab the Uploads section is empty. Should it not display the files I am sharing? I am using the 1.4 client.

uhhh look under your "library" tab. uhmm yeah. you should find the files you're sharing. good luck.

uhhh, NO

Library tab is for files I have downloaded. I want to progress of files requested by other users. This is CLEARLY on the monitor tab under Uploads. This section also allows me to Kill Selected and Clear Inactive. Again, it does not display anything at all, ever.

OK, I think I see whats going on.

It appears that I moved my music after I launched the client (1st time I am running it.) You are correct . The number it says it is sharing is the number that I have available to share with other clients. I misinterpreted that to mean that was the number of files currently being shared because I had over 600 in my shared directory. Once I refreshed the client the correct number available to share shows up. As a note the bottom right should read, "Available to share". Anyway, the Uploads is most probably empty because no one has accessed any of my files (assuming I do not have a problem).

It always helps to Stop. Think. and Listen (or read the instructions) LimeWire's FAQS can be found @ http://www.limewire.com. Thanks for sharing 600 files to the network. Keep up the good work. The only time when you will see something in your Monitor window is when someone is or trying to download a file from you.

Doodle,

1st off I design interfaces for a living, so please spare me the RTFM diatribe. The fact is that the verbiage is "Sharing 12 files" implying that I was currently sharing 12 files when in fact I had 12 files "Available to share". Also it doesn't help that the program is not aware of the files dumped into the shared directory via explorer. Its not that I am asking for any particuliar feature here, just stating how I interpreted the interface (after reading the manual). Also if you look at http://www.limewire.com/index.jsp/userguide/library or any of the other tabs you will notice a lack of explanation for "Sharing 25 files". Also don't forget I didn't notice it on startup and I thought I had 600+ files in the directory which I had assumed the program would pick up. So seeing 12 and seeing the verb sharing, I assumed I was sharing 12. Enough of this and please don't bother to reply.
