67KB/T3 Junk Download

Hey, whenever I search something, anything for that matter, I get a file that is called exactly whatever I'm looking for. It's always 67KB, T3, three stars, mpg, etc.

But in the file is not what I want. It's this pic of some gal, and then a pop up comes for something not nice. LOL.

Whenever I search for something, that file always comes up. With a different name (whatever I'm searching for at the moment), but the same content, and same description and stats.

Does anyone else get it too? I know that I just don't have to click it, but it's really stupid and a bother. How do I get rid of it in all my searches?

Thanks a lot

Some Possible Help ?

I Am not claming this will work easily but it should help and can't hurt so here I go
I am assuming your version of limewire is similar I have 2.8.5 pro and when I am on the search tab and right click under name and check location then do a search the location #'s to my understanding gives you a clue to where it is coming from. I am not sure if this the exact same as a host but it seems it might be write down the location numbers and dots then click on the name of a file you want and then right click it and try to browse host see what comes up if it is all objectionable material then it could be someone hacking into limewire also next go to the connections tab and see if there is that number under host that is listed and highlight it then at the bottom remove it and never download from that location # again try only 4 star under tools options searching quality at least temporairly see if any other location #'s give you trouble make sure you have added them at tools options filters hosts filter hosts place there any locations giving you problems and if none of this works contact limewire support let me know if anything was usefull

I have the same problem!

I noticed the same thing. But, there are actually three files. The 67 KB mpg file, a 1 KB html file and a 1 KB url file. This seems to happen with any search. I actually typed in my first and last name because I was noticing the problem and it came up, with my name. I'm curious how I get rid of it also.

Same problem

I use limewire basic and whenever I search for anything I get three files with the title of exactly what I'm looking for. A url, html and mpg file.

try blocking the URL those results come from, and hope it isn't dynamic hehe.

Check out this page: http://www.shareaza.com/forum/forum.aspx?ID=6

Its from shareaza and they post security updates to filter out this kind of behaviour. I don't know how Limewire implements security features but I know this works.

Hope this helps.
