limewire keeps crashing my computer!

2 days ago, when I opened the program, a window reporting to me "a bug" opened. My computer immediatly froze and I was unable to retrieve or access the info from that pop-up window.

Everytime I open Limewire, it freezes my computer. Sometimes the curser turns into 4 jagged lines and then freezes. Sometimes it remains an arrow.

When I first started using Limewire, I would have a crash every 3rd time that I used it. Now I can't have the program open for more than 20 seconds before a crash.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Limewire 2 times. I've even tried your different versions (pro vs free Limewire).

I have Limewire Mac 4 bin.. I am using cable connection. I have a power Mac G4, OS 9.2

Please help me. I am so frustrated to have paid for a program that will not work.

Thank you for your time,
:)Karen

I have a slight problem with limewire crashing too. It works fine but when I click on my 'Finder Menu' in the top right of the screen when limewire is the application running, it crashes saying, "The application "Limewire" has unexpectedly quit, because an error of type 2 occured."

Any ideas??

One reason for that are the Mac's Fax Extensions. You might want to do a search on your hard drive for "Fax" and disable all extensions.

Thank you, that worked well. I can't believe it was that simple and it's been annoying me for ages. Thanks.
