Question responding to "host no longer available" chats

I tend to leave Limewire up and running all night or while I'm at work so I can continue to share files when I'm not at the computer. I often return to the computer and find that someone has tried to "chat" with me but that the host is "no longer available." Is there any way to respond to their requests and queries. Their IP address is listed, is there some way to contact them. I leave the program running hoping to be helpful and then feel less than a help when I can't respond to people who have tried to get in touch with me.
