kazza ?? like uh can anyone help me get connected to the world outside Lime ? like kazza servers or else ? |
I recently changed to Kazaa from Limewire as I was having so many problems. I tried all the fixes but it didn't work. Kazaa seems to work really well for me. It is far from bug free, but it is a vast improvment! I got it from www.kazaa.com. There is a free version and a pro version. I use the free one and it works pretty well. Good Luck. |
Bad KaZaA Yes, well, I did the exact opposite: I came FROM Kazaa TO LimeWire as I could not download anything at Kazaa. But I can't get anything to download in LimeWire either so I don't know WHAT to do or use anymore. |
has kazaa come up with a mac client yet? if not, is there any other file-sharing app with a bigger user base than limewire/gnutella? i have a much harder time finding files i want than my pc/kazaa-using friends.... the lonely world of mac..... |
i use both nothing to complain about on either though kazaa Lite is better |
i also use both but find kazaa is faster in download than limewire but lime wire is good in collection of files .. many files downloaded from kazaa are corrupted or does not work and till now the files (though few) which have dowloaded from limewire are much better ..but its slow and it annoys sometimes jt |

you should give us more infos, like which firewall you have, are you behind a proxy etc. Morgwen |
The LimeWire home page is boldly stating 'Faster Downloads than Kazaa' I guess this means the swarming has improved and minimized the effect of the slowest link in the chain. From the few tests I've made of swarming a large files (200MB .mpg's), Lw may be right. I often hit my max DL limit of 100KB/s. Is the Kazaa swarming more effective than GNet's? |
That makes sense. btw--I'm seeing the new searches on GNet with the LW betas result in more 'successful' results. You notice an improvement? [tia] |

My experience is that sometimes Gnutella might be faster, but the normal way is that I find more sources with Kazaa lite - that means that I normally can download my files much faster. And it happened very often that I find files with kazaa that I couldn´t find in Gnutella. IMHO the best way is to use more than one client. I wouldn´t say that kazaa swarming is technically more effective - I have to repeat: more sources = faster downloads. Morgwen |
I did-->100 sources (swarmed from a max of ~8, I recall), just to check in comparison with a few months ago. Still pretty impressive. Did you see the discussion on Slyck? It suggests Altnet might be losing people soon. I can't say--only use a Mac. Whatever happens, I'm glad P2P keeps improving. |
Rainbow Girl, you should give us more infos, like which firewall you have, are you behind a proxy etc. Morgwen [QUOTE] Well I only have a McAfee firewall, and don't think I'm behind a proxy as I don't even know what that is. I don't think it's the McAfee firewall doing this as my grandmother has the same firewall, the same downloading program (Kazaa), and the same operating system (XP), but not the same problems. She can download items just fine. What should I do? |
