A message Of Caution

I feel that LimeWire is by far the best MP3 search engine out there. I have been useing LW since version 2.0, but recently I have had to get rid of LW on my computer. The reason for this is that my computer has underwent a series of severe sysem error as a result of running LW. I feel that continuing to run LW is not worth the risk of permantly damaging my computer. From the beggining I used LW agianst professional advise. it is the fastest downloads out there but unfortunatly I can no longer use it. Thank you for listening and use caution.

LOL. LW can't damage a computer! Activating viruses can, though. I'm on a Mac, so I really don't know all the ways the Windows folks try to cope with such problems. I thought most of the problems were exploiting MS Windows code through email though, not LW.

Still, sorry to hear you had troubles. Good luck with your pro.

RE: Limewire concidered detremental to computer health

With all due respect deepblue, it sounds much more like you have inadvertently installed some form of malware like a virus of trojan on your computer.

If however you are so sure that it is in fact limewire rather then another cause, perhaps it would be possible to post to the developers what the errors are and how you think it is causing them? It is much more proactive to report bugs caused by a peice of software then just simply stoping using it.

As well I have no idea what operating system you are running (I'm assuming windows) but perhaps it might be time for a reinstall of that. I find that windows 98 requres a reinstall ever 6 months, and XP every year--depending on how you use your computer of course.
