Slooow Verification
 

After downloading the newest free version, i discovered that the verification of files,takes almost as long as downloading them. This is incredibly annoying, and use to be much quicker in the older versions. Why is this, I wonder?

What OS are you using? I had a similar situation on Mac OS 9.2.2, but no problems with 10.2.8.

Even Slower
 

I am using 9.1. Used to be loads quicker than this, It's almost quicker to take the bus into the city, buy the cd, burn it, re-seal it, using a re-designed sealing lable, made outta tape and the olde epson, take the bus back into the city, return it, get a hot dog at the corner while waiting for the bus, smoke a cig, and be home before dinner...

LOL! How 'bout this: Such a genius would have a big income as an unethical lobbyist, circumventing the will of the people with ingenious plans to separate the people from their parent's money. Genius would probably have free access to a pay service.

Sad to say though, as far as OS 9 is concerned, looks like the slow is here to stay, unless Apple, gnutella and Java are willing to roll back and develop older protocols. Old buggy code had to be removed and the required verification needed to find files shared on gnutella takes so long. I'd guess LW classic will continue to be soooooo slow, and eventually stop.

Well, at least it's quick on OSX. Actually, I'm amazed LW has managed to support Classic for so long. It still works, but so slowly.
