find the right client
 

Hi,
I have tried BearShare, LimeWire and Shareaza, and the client which returns the most results for me is LimeWire. Although I think it lacks very useful features, I think it returns more search results than the other clients I have tried.

I just have a few questions

1. If they all use the same gnutella network, why do I get so many more results with LimeWire than the rest?

2. Another thing is, when I am downloading stuff overnight, and I wake up, I find that a lot of the downloads need me to manually click the find more sources button. Does the Pro version automatically find more sources when needed?

I think LimeWire find more items when searching, but it just seems that leaving it on overnight is pointless, because it only gets a few of the downloads finished. If there is an alternative gnutella client, that can automatically find sources, but still returns as many search results as limewire then that is what I need.

Can someone please help with my questions.

Automatic queries were banned because they were flooding the network (it was a long and difficult discussion--no one wanted to give up such an obvious advantage).

If you use the manual "repeat search", LW can often build up a list of enough alternates for popular files that you can find some dl's will complete overnight.

As for why one client finds more than another, it's mostly coincidence. There is some preferencing that goes on (LW's connect most easily with other LW's, etc).
