Sharing files with a friend

I have a friend using Limewire and want to download his files but I don't know how to enter his IP in my Limewire.
Can the browse feature do this somehow or is there another way using Limewire??

There are ways of finding his IP (depending on OS). You could share through LAN or make a CD and copy the files to your computer. I hope this helps.

The best way is to set up a ftp server.

Peerless,
I put his IP in the connections and clicked on ADD and is said it was connecting but then stopped and vanished. I had my friend on the phone at the time to make sure of the IP and that he was sharing at the time.
I search for known unique file name he has on his share list but my Limewire can't find it.
We can't seem to connect together but both of us can share with others.

adding the IP of someone in the connections tab almost never works, unless he is running an ultrapeer that is accepting any more connections.
