help guys im new to P2P sharing but i had a question is there anyway i can check if these files have viruses before i download them using limewire? |
You can right click the item in the search results pane, and select Bitzi lookup from the context menu. This takes you to Bitzi's website where you can check out if other users have had problems with this file. However this method isn't foolproof since it could be an infected file that no-one has reported about it yet. The bitzi website doesn't have many contributors probably because people are afraid of leaking their identity in any way. If you select the 'Audio,' 'Image,' or 'Video' radio box (see lower left portion of this image) before you begin your search, then your search result should show harmless files only under default settings. If you check "Any Type," "Programs," or "Documents" in the lower left corner, then the search results may potentially include infected files. There are also other ways to safely check for viruses after you download the file, but this requires extra precaution. |
To check the file for viruses after you download it you need an anti-virus I use Norton. You can scan the file with the anti-virus. deepblue |
