Angry No resume with Limewire

PPls do not use limewire client. All other guys cannot get their files because limewire does not support resume. Downloading from u guys is a pain. I had to download the same file 6 times before i had it. Can you imagine 8 other ppls could have dled if Limewire would have had resume. Get bearshare or whatever. Anyway i am using Bearshare and am now cancelling all limewire uploads.

Thumbs down

You obviously haven't tried Limewire, otherwise you would know it *does* support resume.

Bearshare comes with spyware as it is.

I disagree: Whenever I connect to LimeWire from Bearshare with a partial download i get "does not support resume download". The only resume Limewire is capable of is reconecting to the same servant immediately ... if you get in ...
That is a BIG disadvantage especially with large files, which made me move on to Bearshare ... despite their spyware

This was a bug in BearShare which is now fixed. Please don't spread such disinformation.

Just to clarify this lingering issue once again, the last person who posted was correct in saying that this was a bug in Bearshare that is fixed in their most recent version.

The problem was that Bearshare was not following standard HTTP, the most widely used protocol on the Internet, and an extremely well documented one at that.

As you might imagine, the public denouncing of LimeWire for a bug in Bearshare and lack of testing on the Bearshare side is a bit trying for everyone over here. Luckily we're all professionals!
