virus...legality

so i have heard that in limewire,...they scan the file before download for viruses and ask you if you want to download if it finds a problem...but that is not what i get from reading the forum

and legality i know it is legal if you don't "share" your files with other people so how do you turn that option off with limewire...

Let me know

Nope and nope:
LW doesn't scan the files. It just tells you if a file is susceptible to be infected by a virus because of it's nature (e.g. .exe files can very easily carry viruses so LW will warn you when click "Dld file")
Also, sharing in itself is not illegal. It's what you share that makes it illegal: music and videos and what have you that the copyright owner has prohibited unauthorised diffusion are illegal to share, but that also includes downloading them from someone else. So, before turning sharing off, take some time to think that if everyone turned sharing off then you wouldn't be able to dld files anymore. Sounds good?

I understand where you are coming from but according to the RIAA in two articles i read on their website...it is the ones who SHARE THEIR music who are being illegal..and the RIAA are the ones stirring up all of the problem so that is where I got that info from...i just want to go by what they say since they are causing the problems...

but on files that are susceptible it will warn you there might be a virus on it...? thanks
