Default LimeWire and file integrity

I'm new to limewire. Does it check each files integrity to make sure that they are the exact same as the others on the network. Ive had problems with Kazaa replacing random parts of files with binary zeros, so I want to be sure that the files im getting on gnutella are positively not changed. For example, emule checks each files hash so Im always 100% sure that the file ive gotten is legit, complete, and the exact same as the ones i was downloading from. Does limewire use something similar to this to ensure files are ok?
