Hey. I am new to using LimeWire and I was wondering, if I know my friends username, how do I search for him? Is there a way to search for users/open chat or view user files? If not how else do I "find" him? Thanks!

the next version might allow direct connections, but in the meantime, try sending your friend a "magnet" link to one of your unique files (Right-click on a file in your library pane to get at the magnet details).
If the magnet works, you could then try to browse the upload to open a connection to your friend's computer. Firewalls or a busy connection, though, will not allow the host to be browsed. |

Is it possible to elaborate on what a magnet link is and how it works. Thanks
