Spyware?

I was reading over @ zeropaid....

http://www.zeropaid.com/limewire/

One of the people who posted noted that limewire included spyware... any truth to this? I personnally don't care that much about being monitored but I kinda wish that it was done with knowledge, that's all....

Locke, the guy who posted, noted that there are 6 plugins and reg files that pop up with adaware.

Taken from http://www.limewire.com/support/faq.htm :

Q: Does LimeWire have spyware?

A: No. LimeWire does not monitor or record any of your searching or sharing activities at any time. LimeWire will never include such a feature.
---

Maybe he just confused it with Bearshare?
Got to admit that I haven't tried AdAware yet, though...

Just to clarify this issue, LimeWire does not include any SpyWare of any kind.

We consider this type of activity not only an invasion of privacy, but also an extremely limited business model.

Limewire may not inculde any spyware, but it is always worth checking your downloads before you run them. Also I would sugest checking your PC each day before you connect to the internet (Ad-aware SE and/or Spybot are 2 good programs that are worth downloading), you may not be concerned with being monitered but spyware can slow and damage you computer in the long run! :)
