I'm new to limewire

I'm new to limewire. I stopped using Kazaa for obviouse reasons but because I stopped using kazaa I had to stop the downloads that were being downloaded. I did save the downloads though. I was wondering if there was anyway I could continue those downloads on Limewire without starting over. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't think so. You see, Limewire keeps track of what files are being downloaded or were killed through a file called download.dat stored in the Incompletes folder on your PC (or Mac?). Even if you put the unfinished dlds in the Incompletes folder, you'd also have to somehow insert them into the download.dat file so that LW would know that they are there. It would also tell LW how much of the file is dlded so that by clicking Resume, LW wouldn't start over.

Is there any way to find the download.dat file?

You had Kazaa so your very very likely on Windoze, right?
Just open your browser and go look for a folder that's called 'Incomplete' (try the Search function or something). In this folder are stored the incomplete downloads and the download.dat file. You may also find a file called download.bak: it's the download.dat auto-backup file.
I wouldn't mess with these two.

Yes I am using windows. I can find those programs but they're not showing as folders. They're being shown as something for me to view in media player.

They're not programs. And they can't be played by any player (I think. That'd be weird...). I have one showing as a VLC player file and another as a Harmony assistant file, but that makes absolutely no sense and besides, lately my icons seems to have a mind of their own so I don't really pay any attention to that.
Anyway, as I suggested, these are not files to be tampered with unless you've backed them up and/or have no Incomplete dlds to resume. The only thing I would tell you to try is to just put the files you want (those incompletes from Kazaa) into the Incomplete folder and open LW to see if in the Library's incomplete folder they have (somehow) appeared.

Likewise my downloads.dat shows up as a GraphicConverter file (but downloads.bak is the default white). I wonder how many different icon forms it can take up on either platform!?
