Clear Search History Does anyone know how to clear the search history? This feature was available in Kazaa. Thanks! |
I asked for this in the New Features section a couple of times, so unless it's in the newest versions available (which I don't have) then I know that you can't clear it. If it really annoys you then quit relaunch LW. |
Am I missing something here. Is the close each search option only available on the Mac version of LW? Perhaps I should run the pc version on vpc to familiarise myself with it. I haven't dared connect to the net with it yet for fear of bacteria & flu's. |
Is that how it is on 4.0.7? As you can see below, I have 4.0.5 still. Anyway, we're talking about clearing the auto-filling of the search field if I'm not mistaken. Oh and about the Vpc, I tried running it (the Vpc, not LW for PC on Vpc) and it was incredibly slow. Of course, I dld it thru LW but still, it was slow as hell. So, unless you have lotsa RAM, then I wouldn't try it if I were you. |
I have lotsa RAM but still, I think you'd need a G5 to get a reasonable speed out of Vpc. I use LW 4.0.4. I'm lost with this topic! Where do you find the search history? And why clear search history? I don't suppose keywd filters applies to this does it, to limit the unwanted results? |
Unless I'm mistaken too, then the search history we're talking about is the actually auto-fill function, meaning that when for example you type in "File" in the search field for, say, Any filetype and then press search, then this gets registered as a search and the next time you type in f, then the search field will auto-fill with the word "File". This can get annoying if you typed in a large misspelled filename because the field will constantly autofill itself with the wrong filename. |
I wasn't even aware of auto-fill, it's never happened to me. I normally copy-paste my searches b/c I will usually do more than one search of the same item or topic - even if it's only the 1st part of the search name. It saves me from continually typing the same s. criteria. At least that's one small way to overcome it! |
