You state neither if you have PC or Mac, nor if you have iTunes or not. I'm starting to get fed up with people not reading the rules... Anyway, making a couple of guesses I'll try to help you nevertheless Step 1: Find your Shared folder. Go to Options (or Preferences if you have Mac OS X) and click "Saving". This points out to the location of the folder which LW uses to save finished dlds. On PC, it should be at C:/Program Files/LimeWire/Shared. On Mac OS X, it should be loacted at your Home directory (usually named after you). Step 2: Get iTunes. In the case you have a PC, then iTunes must be dlded (unless, of course, it has been included with the iPod). If, the other hand, you are using a Mac, then, most probably, iTunes is already in it. In any case, the newest iTunes is available for free here. You should also dld iPod updates available there, as they can increase performance. Step 3: Get your songs into iTunes. If you have a Mac, then LW has the very convenient option of automatically importing finished dlded songs into iTunes. The only downside is that this creates another copy of the song into the Music folder. For PCs, this feature is ot available (unless they changed that in the newest versions). If this feature was turned off, then turning it on now won't get all your Shared songs in iTunes' Library automatically, so you're gonna have to add them yourself. Watch this small little guide, courtesy of Mr. Kapsi, to "get an idea" on how to add files to iTunes' Library. Step 4: Connect your iPod to your Computer. Doh. Stupid step? Yes. Necessary step. You bet. Try some of these if you need help on connecting. Step 5: Get your songs from iTunes to iPod. That would probably be explained in iPod's instruction manual (if it has one). It should also be explained somewhere in the Apple site. Step 4's link might also include some info on exporting songs to iPod. I figure you just connect it to your comp and clicking "Update songs in iPod" or something like that. |
If I can just add to that: iPod/iTunes You can transfer songs from your library to a portable digital music player, such as the Apple iPod. iTunes works with several players. For the latest information, see this article on the Apple Support website: www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n93548. By default, iTunes is set to update iPod automatically. When you connect your iPod to your computer, iTunes opens, then transfers all selected songs in your library and playlists to your iPod, and erases songs from iPod that aren't in the iTunes music library. If you add additional songs to your library during a session and want to add them to iPod, choose File > "Update songs on iPod." |
