Are you sure it's only LW's media player that's missing sound? Did you check the system sound settings & that of your soundcard? LW's media player is not the most reliable. It might just be those particular files you've recently tried with it. If you have another media player (music/movie) try that with other files on your computer to see if there's any sound or check your cd player.

Thanks for your ever so quick reply alas all other players work and the internal comp sounds work, alas just not LW.

Ahh by george i think you have hot the nail on it's bonce with the corrupt files thing,.............

But wait having just gone back, yes I can be that slow, and checked my older files they won't work on LW either (they do on WMP though) something appears to be unconnected soundwise via LW, but hey what do I know I am a girlie?

I have a better option. Why not make wmp or other player your default player for LW!? Go to LW's Tools-Options & Player & untick the media player. Press Apply & OK (you may need to wait until next time you restart LW but try if it works immediately anyway.) This way LW's media player will be disabled & your system default player will play them instead when you launch the songs. Good alternatives to wmp are windows version iTunes & also QCD (free). Highlight an mp3 go to file-Properties to select a default player/new default if you wish to change it from wmp.

...right thanks as in subject line, but it's all getting manic here, would not having TCP/IP installed as my comp keeps telling me have anything to do with this prob?

I have removed LW and am now just reinstalling so hopefully?

UPDATE:

No aaargh still won't work, so am about to follow your steps as above??????
