If you would like to see the first four pages of a 'typical' scam site, click on the first four (4) attachments at bottom of post (were a little large to show on this page. ) CLICKBANK is frequently used by Scam sites for their payments! LimeWire do not use ClickBank. _ ClickBank claim they are in process of removing scam sites from their business, time will tell! http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...-websites.html (However week later & still scam sites using ClickBank to handle their payments as reported on these forums by a victim.)

A problem with these things happening is people using search engines such as Google which show Sponsored results & people get confused. None of the official gnutella programs above pay for Sponsored advertisements. Only SCAM sites pay for sponsored search results!!!

Definitely a scam site. Cancel the transaction via your CC asap. Explain it was a fraud. Most credit card companies have fraud dept.'s & will usually accept such details. Maximum support LW has ever offered is 12 months. Default amount is 6 months.

Do you have the url website address also so I can add it to the list?

If you wish to use LW, start off with LW Basic which is free. Then 'if' you like it enough consider getting Pro after a few months minimum.
The differences between Basic & Pro are only subtle anyway. There's no dramatic differences & on the surface both look the same.
Lime Wire LLC is the official company. I doubt that is who you went through. Perhaps a similar sounding name.

I am running an Intel iMac, 10.4.6, and I have paid for a subscription in the past. But every time I try to renew, using a valid credit card, I get a message saying my card is not valid. I'd like to pay for the latest version to support Gnutella. But I only have one credit card, and it works everywhere else. Why won't it work here???

Using Mac OSX 10.4 you will not have access to LW 5 due to LW 5's need for Java 1.6 which is only available on 64-bit intel macs in OSX 10.5 Leopard.
However you will still have access to LW Pro versions for LW 4. I'd suggest you send a message to limenathan (click on link) to get it sorted out. LW just in recent days changed their options ... it appears no longer having a 6 month option.

My bad! I wrote my operating system as 10.4 when actually it is 10.5.6.
I need to know why my credit card is rejected when I try to pay for my Limewire. The credit card is good. It works everywhere. But Limewire keeps telling me it is invalid. Help! I only have one credit card.
