I dl from cnet which usally links direct to site...just started getting these weird ads and the web address said xlime so I thought maybe limewire was the reason for these popups maybe ..maybe not...either case here to see if anyone esle was getting them

I downloaded Limewire basic yesterday and I have no pop ups.

I will ask the developers about it.

If the pop-ups came with the installation of LW then it's because the installer wasn't downloaded from the official site.
If the pop-ups came with the download of a file VIA LW, then it's because of what you dlded was infested with spyware/adware.
Try Spybot (it's a link. Click it)
