Can LimeWire identify bitrates?

Can LimeWire identify the bitrates of audio files? For example, can it indicate which files have a bitrate of 128 (CD quality)?

Thanks very much.

Unfortunately, no. But, alternatively, you can begin downloading the song and preview it before it is done (like at 1%). Then you'll be able to see what bitrate it is and cancel if you don't want it. :-)

Can LimeWire identify bitrates?

Could someone please clarify how LimeWire can identify the bitrate of an audio file once a download is in progress?

Thank you.

I use Winamp, and it tells you the bitrate of the file you are playing. If I hit the "Launch" button underneath the download window, LimeWire will launch Winamp and have it play the downloaded portion of the song. I can then read the bitrate information given and decide whether to cancel the download or continue with it. :-) Your download won't be interrupted while you preview it with the "Launch" feature.

Hope this helped!
