I'm not sure what your problem is but, you can go to LW's menu Tools-Options & Connections & tick or untick the 'Connect on startup' option box.
My apologies if I misunderstood your question.

Old lady, hmmm ?
What is this ? Competition ?

I would very strongly suggest to you that you observe very carefully the behaviour of your machine when you first boot-up if you have a p2p application configured to run on startup...

You can easily experience problems with numerous applications all starting at more or less the same time and (hopefully you have some anti-virus software running at startup, also) some of them attempting to access your ISP very much all at the same time...

Obviously the above comments are very much dependent on the equipment you are using now...

If you actually don't have any problems, than great !
But it would be a rare bird in the computer world of today that could perform 100% of the time in a manner that you desire.

I missed something! What you need to do is go to LW's menu Tools>Options>Advanced > Startup. Uncheck the box. Again, if this is your problem. How did I miss that before!
