adding 1000 files to limewire...

Hi there!

I have 1000 mp3 recordings of public lectures from the 1960s & 70s given by my teacher, the founder of the Hare Krishna movement .

I want to share these files with my god-brothers and sisters, and any other interested persons around the world via Limewire.

Why I'm posting this thread is, the 1000+ files all have descriptive 4-10 word file names.
So is it cool to have so many basically niche files on the network?
Dont wanna burn anyone out :D

thanks!

Of course you should share them. Anything you want to contribute to the Gnutella Network is perfectly acceptable. Although, do have some questions for you. What operating system are you useing, and where do you have these recordings? Are they on your computer or are they on a CD? If they are already on your computer, all you have to do is add them to your shared folder. If not you need to rip them to your hard drive. If you need help with this just reply with a little more information, and I'll tell you every thing you need to know to share your files with the rest of the Gnutella users.

You should have tried putting them in separate folders: that way, when opening the shared folder it wouldn't take that long to show all the contents (because the contents wouldn't be as numerous).

Hi deepblue,

well, theyre already on my c drive being shared...the reason i wrote is because a friend who just recently loaded Limewire couldn't find them - a search for "prabhupada" or "krsna" came up with nothing....

But a few times daily someone somewhere is taking a file, so obviously its OK.

Watched 'Outfoxed' at the cinema last night - jiminy crickets!, or, as we say over here 'ouch!' .

The past is dead - God save America (and us all :)

New South Wales? No the garden state is far superior! lol :D

Why don't you have your friend attempt a direct connect. It's possible with the recent version of LW. It's best if you both have your Chat enabled.

Well LOTR,

I cant ever seem to get through to anyone with chat - even when 'smileyface' is present... (I do have chat enabled). Thats not an issue for me - i use msn anyway, and frankly, am busy enough without more demands on my time and mental capacity.

Anyway, all's well otherwise - people who I've told about it are taking files and are very happy, so thats

As we say, LimeWire ki Jaya!!
