!!!!!!!!! Seriously?

I was browsing through the screen shots on the site and I saw that it says the IP address that you are downloading it from! I dont want my IP address shown to 1000's of people I dont know! Now Im debating if I should download limewire or not.....

So does it really do this or not? I'm not so sure its safe now, seeing as I could get hacked.

Well for somebody who is too paranoic to register as a member here. I'm not surprised you're worried. Your choice. You haven't even dwnlded it yet. Oh a fine detail. That's Fine.

If you have firewall, AV, adaware & antispyware you shouldn't really be too concerned. Particularly if you use a NAT adsl/cable router/modem.

I still dont want my IP addess shown to people, it could lead to me getting hacked.

You don't know about NAT devices then? Here's how to get around it. Apply for a Dynamic DNS at www.dyndns.org. What this does is allows you to alias a dynamic IP address (e.g. 203.x.x.x) to a static hostname (e.g. test.an-example.net). You must update the settings at dyndns.org when your IP changes for this to work. Luckily there are plenty of dyndns clients which automatically updates the settings when your IP changes. Some modems/routers (e.g. Netgear DG-814) have a feature in the settings which allow automatic updates to dyndns.org as well.
