how do you stop people

I have set up my limewire to not allow people to download from me if they are not shareing a sertain amount of files. the only thing i still keep getting people to download off me even though they are not sharing. why is that.

No the issue is you can't browse every one. That makes it think they're not sharing. There's a lot of discussion amongst the beta testers & developers about how to increase browsing host ability. Unfortunately at present it's not easy. It can make it easier to browse somebody if they have Chat enabled. But at present it's particularly difficult to browse dialup modem users & some other types of p2p apps also. But keep in mind just b/c you can't browse them doesn't mean they aren't sharing. You will find what I say particularly true when you browse hosts uploading from you. If they have Chat enabled, it's 'so much easier' to browse them.

that is true

That is true, wish their was a way to know if someone is shareing or not. Cause if not why share at all. Im on cable internet and when i download a file from someone its usaly slow, and if somoen downloads a file from me it slows my conection even more. Im not going to share my bandwith with someon that isnt shareing them selfs.

Well many people have the minimum no. of files to share set at 50. Some even higher. I have mine set to 30 now - generous perhaps. As you probably know: Tools>Options>Advanced>Preferencing However apparently that slider was disabled & doesn't work any more. But I think your Preferencing minimum no. of files should give you confidence that people are not freeloading off you.
