someone please help me. I am new to this, I have downloaded 2 different songs now, but I cant get them to play

You probally have downloaded songs which are corrupt that won't play or won't play properly. If the songs are corrupt Limewire should give you a warning saying so.
This is usual common to download a corrupt file and is no big problem. When downloading a song you always have the chance you are downloading a corrupt file. Luck of the draw basically.
Try to download the same song but from a different source.

As a rather different type of reply to you...

Please tell us what Operating System you are using
and
What player are you trying to use
what version of LimeWire
what type of music files... .mp3 or what other file extension

You may simply be having some problems with configuring your player(s)... Can you play CDs or other .mp3 files on your machine ?
