Now I see that the program that I BOUGHT is free--------
I feel just terrible.....

Don't feel too bad, you join the growing list of new users who's first experience of the internet is to be ripped off.

Here's a URL in this forum of another user like yourself that fell victim to a flashy advert that seems to offer everything that you were looking for, except that in reality it offers nothing.
