screen graphic refresh problem with 1.6d?

used v1.3 in past...just installed v1.6d which I initially had problems with the Java 2 RE standard edition install (v1.3.1)...uninstalled the previous versions of lime wirewire and java then reinstalled java then Limewire....v 1.6d seems to work fine now...like the speed of connection improvements, etc.

However, I do notice that the screen graphics of the interface seem to be very sluggish and incompletely refresh (eg when pulling down a menu it tends to leave some of its graphic components behind after you've finished)...doesn't seem to effect functionality but it is global and wasn't present in previous versions...reinstalling didn't help (reinstalled both Java and Limewire to no avail...)

Has anyone else seen this? Is this a Java Bug or a Limewire bug? Is there some setting I could adjust in the Java Engine eg memory caching or something?

thats a limewire bug haveing the same problem too. Mine happens after the first use on the second and on usuage of lime my screen where limewire appears gets huge and i can see like 20% of gui it really sucks. i bet i could write better java code

even if this is a Limewire Java code bugs and is a bit annoying...the functionality doen't seem to have suffered...it seems much quicker on start-up and creating and holding on to connections...mostly a cosmetic issue which I think reflects badly on Limewire at first blush... hopefully they will fix this shortly...

I figure out my problem mabey this may shed some light on yours.

Ok as i said before the problem with my limewire was i was getting inconsistent window sizes for limewire sometimes i couldnt see anything becuase the window size was like 1280x1024 and no gui showed up. well the way i fix that is in the file limewire.props there are variables that control size of window(placement etc..) and if you set it at small size the gui remains intact so for example i set
APP_HEIGHT=700
APP_WIDTH=700
and this made my gui a good size and it was perfect everything worked and i could see everything the problem is when i close it it may change the size even if you don't resize the window at all while your using limewire. SO i guess the trick is to make the to varaibles above constant read-only and this would perfectly solve my problem.

it would be nice if someone from LimeWire could comment on this...hint, hint...
