I've been a longtime user of Limewire...but when I upgraded a long time ago (Basic), I started getting xlime/offeroptimizer popups all the time. In addition, I got bonzai buddy and a host of other programs. I cleaned out all the other programs, but repeated scans with spybot, adaware, aluria, etc., never can get rid of xlime.

I'm not saying it was caused by my limewire download/upgrade...but instead of saying it ain't from Limewire, let's find some way of getting rid of it! I can't find anything except where I have to pay for another spyware program that may not do the job. No. I want some very knowledgable techno guy or gal to tell me how to get rid of it! Let the limewire forum be the one that cracks this nut and let's get rid of this crappy spyware!

lol I ain't even a window's user per se, but might I suggest
-ad-ware http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
Spy Sweeper http://www.webroot.com/wb/downloads/index.php
which should do the job for you & give you fairly accurate results. Certainly mroe accurate than some! Good Luck!

By the way I hope you got LW: from here: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml otherwise god knows where it came from but a scam version by a scam site.

I assure you, I've never downloaded limewire from anywhere but from the limewire site. I'll try the other spyware killers, but whoever created xlime is very, very clever and like I said, it has eluded eradication thus far.
