your RAM is a bit on the low side. Especially when it is sdram, another 256Mb strip would increase performance a lot.

Default Computer Memory

DuncansOneLove

If you do not know how to add memory to your PC, I think you are in trouble because you will either have to get a technician, who will be expensive, or somebody who knows something about computers.

If you still have your PC manual, then this will tell you what kind of memory your PC uses, e.g. SDRAM, DIMM, etc. and should give you a good indication of what you should buy to perform your upgrade.

I would also agree with RaaF and Peerless, 256MB of ram is not sufficient to run a (XP) windows PC nowadays, 512MB really is the minimum.

I dont know how, but my brother will. He is the person who built my PC so he should know.
I didn't know you needed a minimum of 512MB for Win XP. I''m sure it said the minimun of ram were 256. I'll ask my bro about it anyway, and if he knows how to add a memory stick, i'll buy one and then he can do it.

Default Computer Memory

Just to emphasise the point about PC memory, my computer contains 512 MB of ram, which was fine when I bought it back in October 2002.

Now that I have expanded my PC with more hardware, software and, especially, enhanced my firewall with the Agnis block list 512MB just isn't cutting it anymore.

So I am seriously considering upgrading my (Win XP SP1) PC’s memory to 1GB (1024 MB).
