what is bittorrent?
and what are the bad things to look out for?

Spam, porn, files that don't match up to what file size they should be for any type of file. These things have been discussed many times on the forum but perhaps in scatterings of threads. Search the forum for the key words of: spam, spammers, t3, riaa, porn, THIS, Quality of Content on the Network, Fake movies & why

I'll leave bittorrent up to others to explain.

If possible cancel your transaction thru your card company. Sorry to hear your issue - it's just so easy to get caught! LW has a free version so try it before you decide on anything. Bittorrent is to my knowledge best for downlding movies but you can only downld as much as you upld. It's also quite good from what I've heard.
