unzipping files

Hi ppl.

I try to unzip files by using winzip... But SOMETIMES it says that it "does not appear to be a valid archive." Why does this happen and is there anyway that I can resolve this problem if it happens again.

Thnx:)

Not sure. But it might be worth getting another utility like winrar. It will also open zip files. Sorry I don't have a link but your can google it. Another app is Aladdins StuffIt Expander for Windows. The Expander is free & opens many archive formats.

The file might have even been corrupt or .... basically corrupt. :D You'll certainly come across those odd ones that do have problems. Generally the original file has a problem. I suspect they may have archived the file in the background whilst they were doing numerous other things with their computer & thus something went amiss in the process. It doesn't seem often but it does happen.
