Thank you for the response to my question. Now I have another. You told me to go to my download folder on my computer to send a limewire file (download) to videolan, but where the hell is my download folder? I've been searching every place possible and am yet to find it.
Talk to me like I am three years old. For as relating to computer operation, I am.
Thanks for all your input, your a good samaritan.

I had posted a question on the forum a few days ago as to why some of the videos that I have downloaded does not play on my windows media player. You posted a reply stating that I need codecs. Well, when I try to play what I have downloaded I get a picture of a mp3 player saying that's it's 98% off and that I can get a free trial of it etc...
I just wanted to explain what I am seeing. This means I need codecs, right?
None of this &!#* makes sense to me.
Just wanted to see if we were on the same page as to whether or not I needed the codecs program, or if it is some kind of spam pop-up trying to sell me something.
Although I seriously doubt it is a pop-up beings that it comes up far too often on my downloads.
Help me out BUDDY !!!!

What OS are you using?

Dear stratcat

Are you using Windows on your PC, if so which version, e.g. XP, 98, Me, etc?

To Peerless, (addition part II)

I am using windows xp, so my wife tells me. I suppose I can believe her, but I wonder.......
So do you have any clue where I can look to find my downloads? I am still searching for that place and am yet to find it.
Telling me would make you an upstanding citizen. I'd give you the key to the city, but I have no idea in hell where you llive.
I'd draw you a picture of one, but I don't know how that program works either.
Guess you can change my name from Stratcat to I Suck!!

Download Folder?

Dear Stratcat

Some installation of windows may not have a "download" folder as a default but, as far as I can see, you want to play your downloaded videos using Videolan.

I believe you are probably confusing yourself with "terminologies" that you do not understand, so rather than talk about “downloads” or whatever I will tell you how to play your videos.

I will presume that you have downloaded and installed the Video Lan player on your PC already, if you haven't then the following will be pointless.

1) Open the player by clicking on it
2) Click “File”
3) Click “Quick Open File”, this will open a browsing window onto your C:\ drive.
4) Navigate to the folder where the video file is you want to play
5) Click on the name of the file.
6) Click “Open” on the Video Lan button

After a few moments the video should play, if it can’t play then you will need extra codecs (code decryptions) for your player.

Good luck

UK Bob
