Can I edit the movie to make it fit? I THINK that I am on the right track as far as getting my movies onto a cd. Now, here's another problem. I enabled overburning, which will give me 82 minutes on the cd. However, the movie, is 86:42. I checked the end....and the credits begin to roll at 79:35 which would make it fit into the 82 min pocket, just with no credits (no big deal). My question now is, how can I chop that section off of the movie...so that it will fit? Or, should I just look for another version that will fit? Thanks so much! |
Some cd burners allow you to set the desired length (ie: chopping out video to the left of the 1st mark & right of the last one.) Roxio can do this. I don't know about Nero. Otherwise there are utilities that can do this. Check these sites: 1. http://www.videohelp.com/ 2. http://www.videohelp.com/tools I know there's others but I can't remember what to search for at present. |
Thanks LOTR, as you can see, I'm STILL at it! ha ha Not giving up! Can you tell me the # of MB that should fit into 82 mins? Just a ballpark? It seems that I can't tell exactly how long the movie is until I have downloaded the entire thing! Thanks again! |
Yes Nero Ultra will let you do this also. You just need to adjust the stop marker to the desired stop location. I do this all the time when burning DVDs (works the same for VCDs). You can do the same with the start marker. Nero will also allow you to edit out other undersired portions also. You can also d/l manuals from the Nero Website Support section, which give good descriptions on how to perform various tasks with there software. One of the best software purchases I made along with Roxio. *edit* Nero also sometimes will ask if you want to reduce video quality to make it fit. *edit* after thought. Best of luck. |
OMG...I got it to work. I have NO idea how...or if it will ever happen again...but right now, I officially have one movie for my children's portable DVD players. Thing is, it will play in one and not in the other....now..to figure out the settings on the player...to see why it's working on one... Wish me luck! Thank you all for your help!! I feel like I just conquered the world! ha ha Sorry, some of us just aren't pros!! |
