I paid for Pro. Did I get screwed? Well, you read the subject. So far it does not seem to have the "Turbo Charged" download that they claimed. Does anyone else have an opinion on this? |
well . . . the free is quite good. The differences are not easily noticed as you'll find if you search these forums. Anyway, supporting Pro is worthwhile. Just my humble opinion. |
Hmmm I have LimeWire Pro 4.4.5 and JRE 1.5.0_01. It seems to work well. I'm normally turbo charged although on a few occasions it has dropped to excelent. I wrote that off to what I was doing on the comp. at the time and possible internet congestion. As stief said the differences are not easily noticed. I have noticed a few a differences in other areas of the program that I personally like. And I for one don't mind donating to the developement of new LimeWire versions whether they be the free or pro version. And finally have you read or searched any of the threads for optimizing LimeWire performance. Just my opinion (some stink some don't) |
The main differece between free an pro is that pro has more connections. So in theory, you would find more sources to download from, resulting in better download speeds. |
Hmmm, maybe the key is to download files that are form stong sources. I am have two download, each with about 8 sources and they are staying well above 100 KB/s and and peaking at over 160 KB/s. I'll take that! I guess the slow stuff just was not coming out the other end very quick. |
