$18 To Downoad.. Then.. $18 to upgrade to pro? I downloaded LimeWire off of www.imusicsearch.com less than 2 weeks ago and I paid $18 for it. Whenever I load up Limewire, it asks me to uprade to pro though... If I paid $18 to download it, shouldn't I have pro already? |
It cost nothing to download Dear Guest 342432525634 I am sure other forum users will tell you that is cost nothing to download LW, you paid $18.00 to www.imusicsearch.com for nothing. Unfortunately, you were scammed and paid for something you can download for free. I suggest you try to get your money back and to make sure they (the scammers) cannot extract anymore from you. Please also note that only LW Pro cost $18.88 from Limewire at the following URL: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/home.shtml Sorry you've been scammed but you have joined the growing ranks of people who have been deceived by these money for nothing merchants. Then why are sites like that one still up and running? |
Why are scam sites running. Dear Guest 342432525634 That's a question for the authorities where the scam sites are located but I think, and this is my personal opinion, that it will be difficult to prove that they are doing anything illegal. They could claim that they are facilitating access to this free software or some such legal nonsense. Either way, you have learned that all is not what it seems on the internet and that you should always do a bit of research before parting with any money. UK Bob |
Alright - thanks Bob. Just one more question, can I get my money back by taking legal action? |
Legal Action? Dear Guest 342432525634 I don't know where you are but, in most western democracies, it should be possible to take out a small claims action against the scammers, if you can find out who they are. However, if you used a credit card you may be better off going to your CC account holder or your bank if you used your bank card. Good Luck UK Bob |
I would contact your debit/credit card company immediately and explain to them what happened. Most of them have policies in place to handle such matters. They may or may not refund your, but contact them and find out.
