Mac Or Pc?

Do you use a Mac or a PC? I use a PC

I use a mac(s) but I also use windows (best to keep them closed.) It's chilly! :( :p

We have a Mac.... But it's old and it sucks, I'd rather use my new Sony PC. AND IT WORKS FINE

I wonder ... if you had have tried that mac when it was 1st released & had the option to use that or the pc of the time, I wonder which one you'd have found easier & more fun to use. Keeping in mind mac was always far ahead re: graphics, compared to windows up until the early part of the century. It has a lot to do with the way the mac processor works. It is/was/is much more efficient in regards to compiling multiple queries & computations over a period than pc. The processors use different technology. The mac meets one on one & keeps a consistent performance (in comparison.) Also most of the macs are floating-point processors which means more accurate calculations by the processor which is important for graphics compared to averaged calculations by the pc processors. This was certainly true in the past. Very important for accuracy of hi-fidel audio processing & ultra-important for video processing.

Mac anyday over PCs, it's the experience (rate of problems) that tells me so :D

Ciao

I really don't know the difference. You always have the people that vote Mac, and you always have the PC people. It's like the fight between the XBOX and the PS2. I don't know the difference between Macs and PC's so whatever. But you have to admit that Windows/PC has a larger fanbase/userbase than Mac. That doesn't mean that the PC is better though....

You see, as a knowlegdeable person about computers, people frequently ask me to fix their computers (I do not like that at all...). Thing is that mac users usually have benign problems while the ****in PCs are always ****ed through the roof. Now most of these problems are software (I don't think the newer macs are better in terms hardware fidelity than todays PCs), so it comes to say that mac so x is years ahead of XP in terms of usability, albeit not for software offerings.

Conclusion: if all persons were using macs, my life would be simplier in a way ;)

Saludos

lol. I am a knowlegeable person in computers too, but I doubt I know as much as you. I can fix smaller problems, and since I never use MAC, it is harder for me to do anything on. But I agree, if a PC gets messed up, it's f***ed through the roof.

greetings LotR and et voilą

I concur about the MAC's and especially concur about the PC's.

But what would life be without a little variety.

And yes I use a PC, only because it was half the price of a MAC, but 4 times the headache. Don't know if it was a good trade off.

Cheers

The user base is based on marketing. Mac is highly licenced. Although some companies have tried makeing mac clones, the licencing was too high. But for pc there is no such licencing. How many pc clones are you aware of? I'm sure there's many many more than you'e even aware of. Many that don't even get imported into your country. It reminds me of VHS V's Beta! Beta was the more superior format with recording cycles/frequency of double-speed of vhs (arguably double-quality or twice the amount of info recorded! I'd vouch for it!) But due to Sony's tight licencing, it died out due to marketing blunders. But mac has realised some factors of marketing at least & brought the price of their machines down by perhaps up to 25%.

I have to admit that it was the pc's constant issues (crashing & worse) & unreliability & then the early mac classic reliability that got me hooked. In comparison now it's very slow but it was almost always very reliable & predictable. Once hooked ... always hooked despite my times of pc's!
