Ultrapeer status

Please forgive me if this has been addressed, I did search.

I did NOT check the box to disable ultrapeer capabilities, but when searching for the suggested places (from the forum) to check if I am in fact being used as an ultrapeer I can't find anything under options....etc,etc....that would indicate this. I have a broadband connection, pent 4, winxp blah blah blah...good, fast system. I don't mind being an ultrapeer just curious.

Also does this option (if I'm being used, ummm no pun intended hehehe) effect my comp or more specifically slow my computer.

Also a small side note....I click "rarely allow freeloaders", designating a NOT a freeloader as sharing 1+ files. Is this the general consensus or should I alter that is someway???

Thanks
Alana

You can tell your connection status by clicking the connection tab.
Connection Status>Ulatrapeer or Leaf will be displayed there. That is your connection status to the "G" network.

There are advantages and dis-advantages to this. You will just need to see how it effects your system and setup.

I run as an UP with no side effects, but systems can be setup and configured different ways, so what applies to my comp., may not apply to others.

As far as free loaders go that is up to you. Mine is set to allow free loaders as long as they are sharing 1 file. I remember when I started out and had 0 files to share, until I built up my file system, and learned how to effectively use p2p.
